
Sleep Action's Paediatric Sleep Study Day is a one-day course providing senior health professionals with a better understanding of the sleep problems faced by both typically developing children and young people, and those with additional support needs, and how to offer the best advice.

Target audience
This training day will support a range of paediatric professionals. Existing medical knowledge is expected. Suggested professions to attend are junior and senior doctors in Paediatrics and General Practice, Senior Specialist Nurses.

Method of delivery
The session will be delivered online via Zoom, using blended approach of presentations, group exercises and case study discussions. Participation and questions are encouraged throughout the session.
Aims and learning objectives
• To explore physiology of sleep, common sleep disorders and sleep disordered breathing in children and young people
• To inform how additional support needs (FASD,ADHD, Autism) may impact sleep in children and young people
• To discuss benefits and limitations of pharmaceutical melatonin
