Trusted sleep support for children, families, professionals & employers since 1998
Sleep Action, formerly Sleep Scotland, transforms lives by helping families and professionals to improve sleep through tailored support and training.
There is no health and wellbeing without sleep
It’s why Sleep Action works to promote better sleep for everyone. Healthy sleep supports the immune system, appetite, memory, concentration, and emotional regulation while reducing the risk of diabetes, obesity, stress and depression.
Whether you’re a parent or carer seeking compassionate guidance for your child, or you’re a health and social care professional looking to enhance your practice, we can help.
We help children, young people, and their families to sleep better
We support children and young people aged 18 months to 18 years living in Scotland who are struggling to sleep. Our sleep support service is non-judgmental and tailored to meet the needs of each young person, focusing on building healthy sleep habits and behaviours that last a lifetime.
Over 4,000 families have accessed Sleep Action’s Scottish Sleep Support Line since 2018 at no cost, thanks to grant funding.
Sleep Action: The UK’s oldest sleep charity
Sleep Action (formerly Sleep Scotland) was founded to address the unmet sleep issues of children in Edinburgh with additional support needs. Since 1998, we have grown to become the leading provider of sleep support and training across the UK and Ireland. We’ve trained more than 1,500 Sleep Counsellors across the UK and Ireland and supported over 4,000 families through our Scottish Sleep Support Line since 2018.
Our approach is based on the latest sleep science supported by over twenty-seven years’ experience, making our guidance easy to understand and apply.
Sleep training for health and social care professionals
We train professionals across statutory and third sectors as Sleep Counsellors and related sleep practitioners. Our training is grounded in the latest research, built on evidence-based practice, and tried and tested for over 27 years.
Health Boards across the UK return to us time and again, trusting our approach to support the families they work with.
How you can help
