Description
As Sleep Advisors, delegates who attend this course will be able to offer support to children with sleep hygiene issues, while referring more complex cases to a fully trained Sleep Counsellor. The training is structured specifically to meet the needs of professionals working with typically developing children in the health and social care field and is not suitable for private practitioners.
It will be taught using lectures, exercises and online testing.
Day 1 will look at what sleep is, including patterns and processes and an introduction to childhood sleep disorders before outlining the behavioural approach.
Between days 1 and 2, there will be some additional reading and an online test to confirm understanding. The reading and assessment between days is expected to take 1-2 hours.
Day 2 will cover bedtime routines, managing behaviour and interviewing parents before moving onto case study scenarios.
